Yup, there was a local ska/latin alternative band as well.
It is a festival that lasts all summer long, on Sunday afternoons. The shows are all outdoors, in a meadow, surrounded by a grove of Eucalyptus trees…
But they are real short shows. Daniela only played for around an hour and a half or so… The first band is on at 2:00, they shut off the power for the stage at 5:00…
Yes, she put on a good show. I didn’t understand about 90% of what she was saying, but that didn’t matter.
I’ve heard she is kinda like the Brittney Spears from Bahia…
Not really my style of music, but it was extremely fun watching all of the young talent dancing to her music in a very warm sunny meadow.

I don’t think I will be buying her CD anytime soon, but it was an unexpected pleasure (I was told to expect Brazillian Carnival music).
I’ve heard she is not very respected in Brazil tho…

Well, she was more popular a few years ago… but she is respected.
And her music is very close to the the music of Bahia´s Carnival, but not so close to Rio´s.
abou the comments on her looks:

ugh same here. she seems really fake baked. and yes, i know she’s from brazil but come on, she’s got to be fake baking. you don’t get orange from natural sun.
