In my testing it seems my site could get fairly large quickly and I was curious if anyone has firsthand experience with any of these Flash optimizing programs online like “Flash Optimizer” or “Optimaze”? They are both around $100USD. There is no demo for Optimaze and Flash Optimizer’s demo exports as B&W swf’s.
I did some tests with the later and file sizes went from 128k to 71k and another test from 28k down to 17k. Is any of this filesize decrease simple from changing to B&W? I know if Photoshop a B&W image of exactly the same thing is considerably smaller than a 24bit color version.
Any advice you have is much appreciated. Also, the site I’m doing will be 90% vector graphics, which is what these claim to compress the best. Flash Optimizer even had options to compress graphics as well.
