I have a question … I drew a butterfly and used the brush stroke. However, I want to make the stroke colour different from black but it seems I can only use black … is there a way?
if your using photoshop make sure you’re in RGB mode
but in freehand im not sure, just look for something like that
Hi there Mr Puddin,
I use Freehand 9, and to change the colour of the stroke you first need to add the colour to your colour list
windows, panels, colour list.
Then click on options, choose a colour that you like and it should then appear in the dropdown menu underneath the stroke symbol.:bandit:
I can only change the strock colour if its a basic stroke … I’m using a brush stroke and it just defaults to black and leaves no options to change the colour
Hi,
I’m a little confused, what do you mean by brush stroke, in my stroke dropdown I have none, basic custom, pattern and postscript.
Where are you selecting the brush stroke from:bandit:
What version are you using? I have basic, brush, custom, pattern and postscript. I’ve got 10.

Hi there Mr Puddin,
I use Freehand 9
He uses version 9, so is macromedia freehand like an equal to adobe illustrator?
Oops, thanks for pointing that out! Forgive me, I just woken from a nap (damn, that makes me sound old huh?).
It’s hard for me to give you a honest comparision between Freehand and Illustrator, because I barely know both, so I can’t give any pros or cons.
The only thing I can say is having both the programs, I found Freehand a little more intutitive than illustrator. But that’s about it.

Freehand is the sorta equivelant to Illustrator, however it works well with Fireworks, Flash, etc… ( all Macromedia Products, go fig… lol)
what i ussually do is this, im tired of the hassle of frehand. So i ussually make my shapes, do whatever, then import it as a vector into flash, and use flash to color it, etc =)
I use flash for a lot of graphics, cause its so much easier =)
i think it’s NO WAY
but i’ll try it until solve it i hope… C:-)
i got it
i found a solution for this …
by the trace tool click in your brush … ok there is a message will appear …
Wand Option:
1- trace selection
2- Convert selection edge
choose the Sec. ok it’ll convert to an object and you can use it and change the color to your needs. but there is a problem will face you, this option double your stroke to another one .
i don’t know if it useful for you or NO
flashSwimmer C:-)

i hope it helps …
