When it comes to flash, I’m a relative newbie, I’ve done some projects involving buttons but that is really the extent of my knowledge. I tried the tutorial on Creating random numbers, hosted here, to the letter. I’m using flash CS3, and i know that the tutorial is for flash MX, but the coding and such seemed more or less convertible. When I tried the animation, before linking it to the page with the random text, i got a compiler error saying that it wasn’t linked to anything, which is true, however the error that was supposed to come up in the flash document itself did not appear. Once i linked the document to the flash movie, the file apparently loaded however it still wont appear in the text box. I have checked and rechecked everything, and the text box is set on dynamic, however the text still wont appear. Sorry this was so lengthy but if anyone can help i would more than appreciate it. Also, I don;t know if this could be causing my problem but for whatever reason i have never gotten buttons to work unless the buttons and the action script for them were embedded inside a movie symbol. Thanks.
