Problem creating buttons with text!

Hi there,

Im new to this forum and also new to Flash in general. Anyway im using Flash 8 and im having problems creating buttons with text in them. The problem is that when I run the movie the area of the button with the text on is not clickable.

The way im creating my buttons is by making a shape on the stage, then adding text over the top then selecting the whole lot and choosing convert to symbol then button. How do i make the area where the text is clickable?

I would appreciate any help

hello sambo. It sounds to me as though the text you are using is dynamic rather than static. try converting your text to static text.
