Attn: Snowboarders

Hey guys this is a question for all of the snowboaders here. I have rented equipment for about 4 years now, and finally decided I am wasting money on rentals and should just buy my own snowboard. I’ve been looking through some boards and my friend recommended the M3 Cap Snowboard. That can be found here if you all want to take a look:

I think that is a pretty good price, but I don’t really know which boards are good or not. I’m an intermediate-advanced snowboarder and I’m just getting into doing tricks and such. I probably do 3/4 riding and 1/4 tricks.

Looking at the M3 board, I see that their largest size is 163. I am 6’ 4" and weigh about 155. (tall and skinny) Is this board too short for me? Another problem could be my shoe-size. I wear an 11 1/2 and I wonder if I have to get a wide board.

What are some other boards you guys could recommend? I don’t want to spend way too much, I want to know your opinions. I also don’t care if it is a last year’s model either, because it would probably be cheaper and I am on a budget.

Thanks guys for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.

You will deffinatly need a larger board. Your heel and toes will dig in with this size. I would go with a noted brand name. The best i have found to be Burton. You can probably find a last years model for pretty cheap now. Actualy becasue it is later in the season just hold off till spring. You will get a great board at like a $150-200 discount becasue stores will be gettign rid of stock.

Have you looked at Fat Bob?

I’ve been riding for quite a few years now and all my friends that are big and or have big feet seem to ride a brand called Fat Bobs.

The boards seem to be the Big and Tall of the snowboard world.

I’m not even sure if the company is still around but it’s worth a look.

Hey gtuys check this out though. You said that I would need a wider board, buit when you look at this spec sheet:

http://www.boardzone.com/snow/products/Index.cfm?fuseaction=ProductDetail&productid=3410

It says that this is suited for the larger footed rider. Is this the same board as in the link above or is it a different year?
