Hi there,
im doing research on all different ways of compressing audio, this is a school project and it is really important so that’s why i call in the help of my fellow kirupians :sure: . I do this project together with a classmate and we are doing research on mp3, wma, ogg, atrac monkeys audio and wave (if im correct). We also have to do some kind of practical test with experimental subjects. What we want to do is let someone listen to a piece of music that has been encoded with different codecs and then they must tell wich fragment sounded the best.
We already have selected 5 different samples with different styles of music and encoded them with different codec and different quality. But now we are puzzling on a way to make a decent examination of this. How many fragments should we play? When do we play the original wav and when the codec? I thought that maybe you guys know a good way to make such a test, so let me hear some great ideas!=)
