I can’t keep throwing out cd’s please will someone help me with this awful thing?
I have the proj.exe file , the ico file, and the bloody autorun.inf - everything is in the right directory (not a folder) on the top level of the cd.
I burn it with Roxio’s toast (hybrid cd)
I test it on a pc and it does NOT autorun(the ico file just appears as a stupid file next to the proj!) and the users pc is not set to disable autorun- so what the hell???
If your using a PC then you can use a tool called MacImage and create the iso file which will work on both Platforms, you can also use MacDisk which is a emulator for mounting and reading Mac based CDs to test out your Hybrid CD ive used these tools a few times and they always get the job done.
Theres some new tools for crossplatform projects such as this im looking into to see if its any better than the current methods and tools i use its a program called MDM Flash Studio Pro which has a plugin so you can make your flash projects into crossplatform presentations.
Hey Grimdeath thanks for all of that info and thx to other replies as well.
I have successfully creating a hybrid cd which I’ve tested on mac and pc. It’s just the autorun part I can’t get to work- it’s such a simple bit of script but because I’m on a mac, it might be the way I am creating the file. The file must be plain text anscii. I have microsoft word to save as windows txt and even mac’s text edit does but there are a few options in each and every file I create although can be read by pc, won’t execute the autorun. The last txt file I created I was sure would work because it even looked the same as the proj.exe file. But to no avail.
I don’t think autorun is important (prob alot of ppl don’t like it and toast titanium no longer does it for mac for security reasons.) It’s just it bugs me when I can’t get something to work. :bored:
