HIVE Creative are a full service design studio based in Prahan, Melbourne. We keep the studio fun, and have the usual design studio fooze table but also a roof-top terrace for friday beers. We are competitive pool players.

Our sites are generally full scale flash applications with php/mysql backends with CMS’s, however technology is based on the projects requirements, and we will use whatever is appropriate, be that Flash, Processing based interactive projections, standards compliant html sites or FLEX RIA’s.

PHP Web Programmer**
- At least 1 years experience as a programmer
- High level Object Orientated programming
- High level MySQL
- Experience with UML and data-modeling
- Some experience with planning and architecture
Desirable
- Experience with CodeIgniter or other frameworks would be great
- AJAX and javascript skills highly desirable.

Flash & Front-End Developer**
- We are AS3 based
- We use design patterns, so you would need to have an understanding of OOP and MVC pattern at least
- At least 1 years experience in an interactive or design agency as a developer
- Effective with standards compliant CSS/xHTML. You should edit code, not use a WYSIWYG.
- Knowledge of user experience best practices
- High level of attention to detail
Desirable
- Experience with PHP & MySQL & javascript a big plus
- PV3D experience
We don’t expect you to be a guru, but we will help you become one. If you are one, then you will have a lot of fun here.
Both of these jobs will include some level of maintaining old sites and making updates, but with new sites we try to push into new territory and they provide an opportunity to really get your fingers tapping the board, exploring new approaches and interaction ideas.
We are prepared to be flexible with these jobs descriptions. If you are a gun PHP programmer and can also do great front-end dev work then we’d love to hear from you, and similarly if you are a great flash dev but have no front-end skills but can code good php.
