Just wondering how many people here are in to black and white photography, standart, single lens reflex photography, 35 mm?
If you are in to it, and you have pics to show off post them here!

I love B+W photographers like Ansel Adams.
Im not too big into takin my own shots. My photos consist of me and my crew usually engaging in illegal activities at parties and whatnot.
i’m taking a class in b/w photo this semester, i’m really enjoying it i may post some of my shots when i get home late tonight/early tomorrow morning if i’m not too tired
i love B&W photos, i will try to dig some of mine up if i can.

First of all thats a pic by Marianna, a swedish photgrapher.
If your going to use someonelses pic at least change its name!
oh no ive been found out :-p
The only problem with converted color pics is they are centered on the grey halfway between black and white, where a true b/w pic blends the extremes to get the greys, makes for better highlights. I think the reason b/w looks better than color is the fact that every shape is defined and all shapes have the same bias meaning that where the camera was focused is where your attention is drawn, giving you a better feel for what the photographer was seeing. Wierd how the last pic by sphynx looks like the clouds are in color while everything else is b/w.
Anyway I will have to dig up the photos my g/f took she has some awesome work, okay I’m partial but what the heck, and post those.
Alright happy photographing,
Shawn
If your camera uses CCD then it would be no different on the processor to take a pic in color versus b/w, most digital cameras have a setting for b/w because the pictures can be compressed more. But if you would like to get a more authentic feel you could use the sharpen filter/tool in photoshop or whatever to up the contrast slightly.
And any sort of pic that involves fluid motion and a delay is cool, makes kind of a ghost effect. I have a pic (color) of a waterfall that is mostly frozen that I got this effect on looks really cool, now I have to get a scanner so I can upload them, I have a few on my site right now but my scanner broke.
lol i couldnt find the ones i have on my pc so i was like eh
thats pretty cool you guys knew that though
ill try and find mine and post back later
