I was wondering, since i’ve only used maybe 8-9 gigs on my computer, and my ipod is only using maybe 6-7 gigs out of 30… Is it possible to back up my system on my iPod? Tell me what you think.
I was also wondering, does anyone know of any decent software for backing up all files and folders as in from place to place, even if it is running?
you could back up your files on your ipod…it’s essentially just a portable hard drive that plays music. i’d recommend just burning a cd/dvd of stuff you want saved though…
^agreed don’t trust it, I have probably reformatted my ipod 10 times in a year and a half. They tend to freak out every 2 to 3 months and have to be reformatted. Or maybe its just mine that is a little buggy.
You can always get your music back on but not the data. I go back and forth from 2 PC’s and Mac and I think one or both PC’s always screw it up if I’m running windows media player.
4G 20 gig, I know I need to update. Its weird, sometimes my mac will not recognize it after I have it plugged into one of my pc’s. Haven’t been able to pinpoint what was different at the time and it happens once a month or sometimes longer. I plug into 2 or 3 machines a day and its formatted mac because I like my mac better. I use xplay on the pc’s to load it up.
You should format it for Windows if you use it with both PCs and Macs, i’v always found problems with Windows and iPods if it’s formated for a Mac (infact most of the time I can’t even get a Mac formatted iPod to run on a PC).
