Beep Beep Beep

Rants!!
Time and again I come across electronic units that go Beep for every action on it. Is it really necessary.

Situation 1
Called an elevator. Arrived. Sensor buttons. Pressed ‘G’. Beep. No light on number. No movement. Pressing it again(hoping I might redeem myself), beep. … beep… … beep… … No light, same floor. The door closes this time and remains that way. The door open buttons won’t work too now. I try a few different numbers hoping some floor button may make it move. Beep beep beep (no movement, still stuck in elevator) - seemingly dead. I pry the doors open manually (puny hulk) and hop off. I stare back. The doors open / close / open / close. I use the stairs :frowning:

A little later, that lift is deemed out of service. (Uh oh - pretend innocent face)
Often I have to jab a few times or try a finger swipe or try to jab at a particular spot, so that it will agree and move.

Situation 2
I use an induction cooker.
Switch it on… Beep.
Everytime I try to select an option. Beep… Beep… Beep. Reduce the temperature. Beep. Beep.
Take off a vessel… Emergency Beep beep.
So if I’m cooking lunch thats like a dozen beeps, dinner time, another dozen.
Around 2 am in the morning in the calm of the night. You sleep well, silence around, only to be disturbed by an incessant soul who decided to warm something. Beep beep beep… beep beep… beep beep.

Situation 3
Washing Machine.
Select options. Beep Beep Beep. Spin over. Reminder Beeps.

Shouldn’t these units offer a turn off beep option or atleast a volume adjustment? Or did they just go crazy - Hey lets add Beep to this… and this… and this… and everything. Cool, now lets sell it.

Does anyone else feel irritated with annoying Beep sounds while using an electronic device or something.
