Hi everybody. A “project management” question this time.
(Not certain if this is the correct forum section for PM question; Please advise…)
Development platform = Flash CS4;
Project participants = 2;
Roles = keyFramer/Artist (1), AS3-interActivityProgrammer(1)
So, I have described our project (adnauseum - too much detail I think).
TRACKING CHANGES: Is there a way? - a “best” practice - to track changes made in the .FLA file ?
Project flow (so far): client Wants > studio loosely Bids > client Agrees > studio FIRMS up requirements > client Agrees > studio creates detailed storyBoard > client Agrees > studio keyFramer/Artist FOLLOWS storyboard to create animation > studio keyFramer/Artist places “his” animation .FLA onto studio server > then, studio AS3-InterActivityProgrammer adds actionscript (after organizing messy “artist” file) > studio AS3-InterActivityProgrammer places “her” animation .FLA onto studio server ~ and warns “artist” do not touch my AS coding > Client reviews draft creation and Wants changes to the animation (of course) > studio keyFramer/Artist is indignant (of course) – but, the client is always right – so… > studio AS3-InterActivityProgrammer aware of the changes needed “warns” studio keyFramer/Artist - again - please do NOT touch my AS coding… YOU GUYS GET THE IDEA. Indeed, you folks must live this dayAfterDay. Obviously, I am concerned that my talented (but clumsy) keyFramer will MAKE CHANGES that impact the perfect actionscript3 that I coded; Certainly, I am also clumsy AND new at actionscript3, that is why I am concerned (it ALL seems so “breakable”).
Again, basic question: Is there a way? - a “best” practice - to track changes made in the .FLA file ?
Again, I am thankful for the terrific suggestions and solutions. And, your patience, with my celtic-Inglish is also appreciated. You guys (and gals) are awesome!
