I am printing with PS CS4 and an HP PHotosmart Printer C5580. I am having a problem with 14 pt type printing that appears jagged and light (or slightly faded) in some areas when I am using PS. The printer gives great black type for all other software (Word, etc.). I am printing on 100 lb Card Stock that has a nice smooth finish. The print cartridges are 1/2 capacity; so ink is not the culprit.
I am printing a booklet wih a decent amount of type and it needs to be black and clean.
I have printed out samples of the type in Smooth, Crisp, Sharp and Strong on the same page to compare each. Smooth looks the best; but it is not a solid black.
Have the PS print in CMYK.
What did I miss or any suggestions?
