hi i know im asking something stupid but still i want to ask… i just bought a toshiba satellite and it dont have a builtin bluetooth i have to attach external bluetooth with USB. I want to put that device somewhere in my laptop instead of using it through USB port… is it possible?
Uhh… just purchase an expansion slot one and use that? Does your model support bluetooth? If it does it could be as simple as calling up the company and purchasing it separately.
Its odd to see an laptop without it now-a-days.
I always have Bluetooth off because I don’t have any Bluetooth devices. I just love cords too much. Besides, I don’t like my keystrokes and mouse gestures being broadcast into the air. What if I’m typing in my password or generating a random SSH key using Puttygen? :shifty:
^Why would you be using a wireless keyboard (for either a laptop or a desktop)… that just doesn’t make any sense .
^ Why wouldn’t you?
I have bluetooth turned on most of the time (Keyboard, mouse, headset for skype.) Yeah but do what temp said and buy a expansion slot card.
If you’re having Puttygen generate an SSH key for you, what are they going to see from your keyboard? :sigh:
it does support bluetooth… but that is expansion slot card?
They would see my mouse gestures (Which I mentioned in my post.), which as any Puttygen user knows, are integral to generating SSH keys for Puttygen. Knowing your mouse gestures when generating that key could open up a massive hole in the algorithm, since the attacker would know a big “clue” about the dataset being used to generate the keys.
Eh, either you’re wrong or PuttyGen is retarded and not at all compliant with equivalent SSH key generation utilities on *nix machines.
^ puttygen uses some random movement from the mouse to seed when generating the hash, it’s very secure and follows the usual standards.
I think even MI5 would have trouble taking some random mouse movement from a bluetooth signal to try and crack a 1024-bit RSA key
You’re not kidding. I googled and that’s actually true!
^ See why I protect my airwaves now? :shifty:
^^ @ramie, thanks for backing me up!
guess what i found as alternative solution…
this is bluetooth usb which i bought today
That’s puny! (That’s what she said!)
You got shot down and your happy lol?
Anyway, I was going to say go buy an external bluetooth adapter…I know they are out there, like the one you already bought hahaha.
No, I was just making a joke.
