Hey,
I have a Lacie External HD (250 gigs), and it’s been acting weird lately. It’ll start making a ‘ticking’ sound, that I thought was a clock at first, and didn’t even notice it for a while (being about 30 minutes, not days).
Now it’s creating duplicate connections on my Mac (it has two links in the top-left of Finder windows), and the top one says that it can not find the disk.
iTunes (which has all of it’s music on the disk) will sometimes randomly get mad, too. The disk usually doesn’t make the ticking sound while playing music.
I can read files from it fine, and I’m in the process of copying all the files to my other external hard-drive, but I’m a bit scared. I haven’t touched it, since it’s been sitting here fine for a long time.
