hey guys, another question,

im still editing my forum, and i wanna put in some flash into the top header instead of the gif that is there right now. i made the flash and i tried to edit the file by saying the extension is swf instead of gif, and uploaded. when i goto the forum however, the flash header doesnt load.

can someone look at the file here (you open in notepad) and tell me what im doing wrong? the header image starts around this area:
the part where it mentions hmdl.swf near the beginning and it used to be hmdl.gif, i just changed the extension. how do u add all the other crap to make the flash appear?

im not sure of how to make the flash show up

umm…

I may be wrong, but I have never heard of anyone turning a gif into an .swf, just by changing the file extension.

If you want an swf, i think you need to build it from scratch. Unless there is some third party software that does this sort of thing.

Do you have access to the frames in the gif?
If so, you could import them one by one into flash.

You cant change the file extension.
Try importing the gif into flash and publishing as swf.
