Cat. 5e Cables

Hey guys! I have a HUGE problem.

I am setting up my XBox Live, and i needed 75 feet of Cat. 5e cable. well you cant get it that long, so i have to make my own. We (my dad and i) have it all wired, but now comes the time to put the “head” on it (you know the clear part). Now when we do this it wont work. is there a special order we have to go in? Please help! We dont want to call in an electrician cause we are this far, but does anybody know anything about what i need to do (in terms of setting up the “head” of the 5e cable)?

well we found a GREAT site on how to make them with pics and step by step tutorials. but now, we think we crimped it along the way, so we bought 2 50ft and 1 25ft (just to make sure we had enough, so we could 100 or 75) and are going to run it above ground (we got it through our basement right now) and see if it works, if it does, then its the wire. If not, then i kick my routers arse.
