I’m afraid this could be a case of one biting off more then they can chew, but I’ve very patient and willing to work hard to learn a new concept even if it takes a while. So first I’ll tell you what I would like to do, and then I’ll tell you what skills I possess Flash-wise, and then I’ll cite areas I desire specific help in.
Concept is that I’d like to create a cute little easy to use Flash Applet that people can use to create cute little characters and hopefuly put it on my DA for people to enjoy X3
Heres some images of what I think I’d like it to look like. They’re just rough drafts, so theres some colors missing from a few sections, and some design concepts may be a little too difficult for me to get my mouth around.
The design speaks for it’self, I don’t think theres too much I need to explain. To the right of the top right adjustments are color swatches, press up or down to change, or I might remove the arrows for one of those funny little boxes with all the little hexidecimal colors.
The boxes to the right of those, which clicked will put a little red cross in them and remove that clothing item from the character.
If Items is clicked a little pop-up window appears for item choices, simple things like cute tails, head phones, ear muffs, etc. This may be one I’ll have to fore-go due to difficulty. Here is a illistration of how I would like it to look.
Items would go into those little boxes. The transparent window would allow for a viewing of how the items look on the character. If clicked again they dissipear. Multiple items could be added at the same time.

Uhhh… XD; Basic animation, drawing, good understanding of layers, transparency and masking, and color-changing code. I learn quickly, and will be delighted with any tutorials you throw my way though! <3
Things I’d Like To Learn/Find/See
If anyone knows of a tutorial on how to make a character making, obviously that would be awesome, but i’m usualy not that fortuante with my findings.
I’d like to learn how to make a color swatch-when clicked, change not only the color of the hair (for example) but also the shading and highlights. I assume this could be done by simely changing the hue and lightness values, but I don’t knwo how I’d do that to multiple objects, or to an object that could also be modified in shape since they can also be adjusted in style.
Anything that you think would help me, including personal opinions and advice.
Once thing I don’t realy want to see is people telling me that I’m not expirienced enough to take on this project. I know it’s a bit over my head, but the whole learning-how-to-walk-before-you-run part always bores me so, and frankly, I’m tried of making little walking pandas.
Instead of telling me that I can’t do it, tell me what I can do to bring myself to a point where I can.
Looking forward to any advice the talented minds of these fourms can spare me X3
