I needed something along those lines, but I need it in my native language or it’s useless!
So I endeavoured in making the news ticker work in my charset!
I thought I had found it!
Only I didn’t! 
now for those “international” users amongst the KirupaLand here is a help about ur charsets!
I found it and I’m mailing it to myself for safe keeping! Just in case the site goes into oblivion!
I need the portuguese letters to appear in this ticker!
I, upon embeding characters, embeded extra latin based ones… All those seeming relevant!
I must be doing something wrong!
My xml file has “pt-utf-8” as encoding… It just doesn’t show my letters if they aren’t in the american english alfabet!
