Cheap Flights to Europe?

So I’m planning to go backpacking to England, France and Germany with three buddies in August - was looking for some cheap flights but couldn’t find much for under $1000 CDN.

Looking to fly out from Vancouver - and I guess to London would be the cheapest (we’re there for a couple weeks).

Anyone used any booking websites/airlines that have been good?

Vayama.com has a pretty good search. I doubt flying to London is going to be your cheapest option.

I would have thought Zoom airlines would be your best bet (to Europe from $129 CDN one way) - www.flyzoom.com.

Man the taxes and extra fees added on to the ticket cost more than the actual ticket fare.

I was excited to see a 200 dollar ticket from Vancouver to London, but then tack on another 212 dollars for fees and it’s not so exciting. Boo :frowning:

It’s like that within europe too. Easyjet flights from the uk to, for example, Nice often cost me about £10 return … + about £70 taxes. Still cheap though.

Penguins can’t fly.

Did you not see the BBC’s expose on flying penguins?
