I live in Virginia and these things are everywhere. They only emerge every 17 years and usually die off a day or two after.
Anyone else experiencing this natural phenomena?

Man, it’s messed up. I live in Ballston (Arlington, VA). It’s a constant hum. It sounds as if there was machinery far away or something like that. They’re starting to overtake DC. I’ve seen quite a bit already at Dupont Cir (for you DC folks).
They love to land on people and get a free ride.
what grossed me out was one day, one flew into my car and i saw that it was missing half of its body. apparently they can survive with only their heads, where their wings are attached.
A cockroach can survive without its head until it does from starvation.
(about 7-10 days)
one good thing about them is for the most part they dont splatter so much as bounce off your car when they hit. Of course the chances of this happening decreses with speed, but atleast on my way to work I get 95% bounces and only 5% splattering.
wow they are dodgeing my yard for some reason they are all in my neighbors yard
i have yet to see one on my yard
muhahaha
they know not to f**k with flashers :pleased:
ya they are smart-ish
yeah **** straight, cause they know the consequences of entering a flasher’s backyard:
he’ll go straight to www.kirupaforum.com and post about it. =)
and by flashers you mean people who use flash and not people who go off showing random people their junk, right?
i think thats a flasher the person who uses flash because i don’t do the other thing
We went to Gettysburg today on a fieldtrip and they terrorized us at lunch. Some even followed us on the ride home.
hahaha
Here in lovely Los Angeles we get none of dem critters but I see them when I go to Jersey in the summer.
