Its weird and it really bothers me: did anyone of you guys noticed that Internet Explore shows border around flash movie and it won’t function properly unless you click on that flash area to activate. Usually its says
click to activate and use this control
so I am thinking is it because of the latest Windows XP updates or its just my PC?
Anyone has anything to say or some sorta solution for it?
The “click to activate” appears only when the <embed> method is used for inserting ActiveX controls. Designers using Flash need to use the alternate methods Adobe and MS suggest for placing Flash content on the page. The <embed> method will no longer work like before
Use Firefox! But I should say, the update is only for the good. So you may be taking a risk, of hackers taking over your computer! But the odds of getting hacked using IE with the update, is still higher than Firefox
I’m working on a mini-tutorial that generates the code needed to use the FlashObject method. All you need to input is the movie path, the width, and the height. I’ll try to have that up by tomorrow
argh. i thought this stupid thing was still like 5 months away from being a problem… didn’t Mictosoft send out a letter saying they would delay it like 6 months?
