What is more important from the point of view of Web Site designing? Before answering the question we should keep in mind what the visitor / customer would generally like to see in a Web Site. Of course, the answers would vary for different categories of Web Sites. However, certain aspects are common to all categories.
The graphical presentation of any web site is certainly important. The subject and object of the Web Site must be considered while designing any Site. If you are designing a Site for children, for instance, the use of various colors and cartoons, etc. would be advisable. While, if you are creating one for professionals, decent hues and simplicity would be appreciated.
However, the contents of any web site are certainly more important than its graphical presentation. A good design would attract a visitor whereas a good content would retain a visitor. Whatever may be the subject of a site, the basic objective is to provide some valuable information to the user / visitor. It is the content that attracts visitors through reputed search engines. The contents should be written after considering the SEO guidelines.
Dos and don’ts:
1.The content should be concise and precise.
2.Make separate paragraphs for different aspects.
3.Fresh contents should be added regularly. It will motivate a user to visit the site often. Secondly, the search engines will notice the site more frequently.
4.While writing contents appropriate keywords/ key phrases should be incorporated. However, one should avoid excessive use or repetition of keywords. It would lessen the value and lucidity of the matter.
5.Utmost care should be taken as regards spellings and grammar.
