Im sure many of you people have jobs, and im sure many of you have contracts with the company you work for but i’ve been working for this company over a year now and i still dont have a contract or a hand book telling me my terms and conditions.
i was just wondering is it worth having a contract? what are the key things you benifit from in a contract? is it worth me naggin my boss to get his finger out?
The company i work for is a small struggeling company we work our guts out to break even pretty much, at times it feels like it could all fall apart and fade away at any moment at others its going strong and its like we could take on the world. some of the employees here have contracts some dont.
Am i still classed as an official employee of this company even thou i dont have a contract? and am i entitled to all the rights of some one with a contract?
for example if the company went down and i was made redudent would i get redundecy pay? and also ive heard a rumour that if you dont have a contract they can fire you without reason and without notice at any point?
I dont really know much about legailitys of all this stuff hence why im asking ive tryed googleing some of this stuff but i could jsut do with someone explaining it to me in basic terms.
Have any of you had experiance in working for a company with no contract? or is it something you make sure you have set in stone so you know where you stand at all times?
if you have any information or advice for me please post.
thanks guys
