Hi all,
can anyone recommend or know of a tool to convert an swf movie (built heavily or all by Actionscript animation and many of the new flash 8 filters / Matrix classes) into a hi quality .mov or .avi file?
i have done this before using Fraps (www.fraps.com). Warning, it requires one hell of a fast computer:)
Or camtasia Its pretty similar to fraps, I’ve never had much luck with them, only achieving 5 or 6FPS so its mega jerky. not sure of anyother way apart from screen recording
I have a dual 2.0ghz with 2gigs of dual channel memory and a 3ms hd system and i was able to record at about 31fps:)
Like i said, it requires a monster of a computer
My 3ghz AMD 64, 1gb of RAM…If i remember recording Counter strike 2 was good (this was about 18months ago), I did get around 24FPS as long as it wasn’t too processor intensive, but as soon as I tried to screenrecord anything in windows it did drop considerably…my baby is 2 years old, its time for an upgrade when the bank manager says so 
thanks for the recomendations guys - I’d love to find a mac compatible converter as we don’t have a bohemoth PC around - I may look to outsource this as well.
