Convert swf to original fla

I accidently meet a software that can convert swf file back to the original fla file. This is good for beginner to study how people do their animation and action script.
If feel interested you can message me and I will send you the link to download.

sorry for my broken english. :stuck_out_tongue:

hey, are you talking about flash decompilers? just beware that it MAY be useful for beginners, but many people like to rip whole sites and this makes it easier…

A decompiler is the closest thing you can get to that.

getting an FLA back is technically impossible, although you can find some programs that can extract the actionscripts, and others that extract all the graphics/sounds/animations and such =)

p.s. im writing a review on ActionScript Viewer 3.0… expect it sometime soon :)

I’ve used Sothink… it is helpful for people like me that can be very unorganized… too many times I’ve placed an swf on a server and realized two months later when I need to work on it that I cant find the FLA for it on my comp… it saves time from strating over again!

does it give you an fla though?

There is no way to get an exact .fla from a .swf.

A decompiler is the closest thing you can get to it.

I think he is saying he has software that does this, would anyone like the link…

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Oops

Please, post the link… This looks interesting…

Indeed… this would be nice … for educational porpoises only - hah!

Personally I don’t much like the idea of a program that can do that. Aside from the accuracy of any .fla you’d get back, it would also be worrying from the point of view of the person who’s swf is being broken down.

One of the good things about Flash movies is that they’re much more well protected than say a .gif image or .jpg.

I think I’d rather study tutorials. Or .fla’s that have been given to me. My first Flash experiments were when I had to alter some games for the company I worked for, so had no choice but to take apart existing files. That was good experience, I have to admit. But I’m not sure about decompiling anyone’s programs without permission.

I think that is the big difference between flash and normal html. Normally your gfx stuff and all the coding is safe. That’s what i really like about flash. And i think it is ok that there is software like that, because everyone can get gif and jpgs, so why shouldn’t they get flash stuff…

well, sometimes a program like that would be good. There are programs out there, like swift-mp3, that just make the swf directly…

Well lets put it this way.

You know how a lot of great HTML sites get ripped? Like people steal their exact layout and everything, and just change the content.

Well, a program like this allows people to do that… but in Flash! :scream:

That is why I don’t really agree with it. I worked hard on what I do, I don’t want people to just steal it without permission.

You should contact the webmaster and ask them how they did what they did. Many times they actually will share, and many times they won’t, but it is fair and worth and try.

Yes, but what happens when a client comes to you, and asks you to modify a part of his site, which he doesn’t have the fla handy. If you decompile it, you get the job…

Rev

That’s tricky reverend ;p

@lost, I think it is fair, I work as hard as you do on my gfx stuff and my coding and every noob can rip it…

And you think its fair that any noob can rip off your hard work and claim it as their own?

I believe in open source, most of the time when people ask me how I did something I will tell them and/or give them an example, but stealing it from me is just ignorant and wrong.
