Coway Airmega Mighty2 Review The Sequel Is Better Than the Original

Coway’s most popular air purifier gets an upgrade in looks and purification strength, though I wish it had wheels and an app.

Look — no app is a feature to me, not a bug; fewer accounts, fewer “smart” updates, fewer weird data leaks. Wheels though? yeah, moving a purifier room to room without them is how you end up rage-carrying it like a suitcase.

No app is fine, but I really want a physical “quiet at night” mode button. I had a cheap purifier that decided 2 a. m. was the perfect time to ramp up because it saw dust, and the sudden fan noise woke me up every time. Wheels are nice, but even just a good handhold or indent on the sides changes everything when you’re moving it between rooms.

Yeah, the “auto” mode is only as smart as your sleep schedule — I ended up just leaving mine locked on the lowest manual setting overnight because the 2am fan surge is pure spite. And +1 on the handhold thing: carrying a smooth plastic box from room to room feels like wrestling a bar of soap.

Lol “2am fan surge is pure spite” is painfully real — mine does the same thing if I so much as open a bag of chips. I ended up parking it on a little cheap plant stand with wheels so I’m not doing the soap-bar carry every time I move it.

Yo the little rolling stand hack is clutch — I did the same thing with a random IKEA plant caddy and it cut the noise a bit too since it’s not vibrating straight into the floor. plus it’s way less annoying to scoot it away when you’re vacuuming.

Look — decoupling it from the floor helps more than people expect, especially on wood or tile where it turns into a wee subwoofer. I did the same trick with a rubber mat under mine and it stopped the low hum carrying through the room.
