Those motherboards arnt the best imo you will want 4 memory slots… and Mobo’s are relativly cheap so dont cheap out on them.
And if you are going to be picking a processor out of those the best is probably going to be the Intel Celeron D 3.06 if your running nothing else but your game. But really processor doesnt matter that much so go for AMD Sempron 3300+.
WARNING: that last mobo doesnt support the AMD 3300+.
I would choose none of them. Celeron came out before Pentium remember so obviously it costs less and it’s aim for home users who use their PC for Internet and whatnot.
I just bought one of these. It actually has onboard video and 2 sata ports (although I don’t think it says so on the website).
It’s not the greatest, but for $80 why not. If you’re wanting to build the ultimate gaming machine, this is not the way to go. If you want to spend ~$300 to build a decent machine then this is a good deal. I’m still waiting on my RAM to get here though so I haven’t had a chance to test it out.
Celerons kind of get a bad rap. In my opinion they offer a lot of bang for the buck and are perfect for the average user. The celeron D’s use the same prescott core as the Pentium 4’s. They have decent fsb speeds (533 mhz compared to 800 mhz in the P4…not sure if celerons have any 800 mhz ones). The biggest difference I see is the size of the L2 cache.
I havent really looked into PC components for a while. But I cheaped out on my mobo, really look into them thoroughly especially think about future expansion and compatible components. My Soyo is awful…it sounded right for the spec at the time…but now I seriously regret it. Its mega boring but read and compare the specs as much as possible. Then obviously double check reviews. Can’t really advise on the processor cos I’m heavily AMD biased.
Whats the PC for anyway? Don’t want to over/under spec it…?
