Crashed

Yup, and I also got a free software from Amara for this: http://www.amarasoftware.com/flash-slide-show.htm as I’m going to publish a review

News from the comp’: just got back home, powered on, and got a “System has just recovered from a serious error…blabla” !! Well, at least it has recovered so far, just wish it’ll stay health for a few more weeks untill after we move and I got some more time to reinstall (as by then, I’ll also be unemployed… :frowning: )

Oh cool stuff eyez!

Sorry to hear about your job :frowning: Good luck the computer problems though

Update:
it worked for a few days, yesterday, I took out the unused Win2k drive, put the data drive back in, still worked, I leave the room for like 1/2 an hour, come back and find the black screen “C: drive not found” again, even tho’ the comp was running!?
Today, take out data drive, insert XP as D: and W2k as C:, can’t boot to 2k again (dual boot option shows) but XP works with the “new baby, no softs registered” interface, but it works.
So, finall decision: I’m formatting/reinstalling XP, no news for the next few days untill it’s all installed again…if all goes well.
Please take care of sure shot, I have nothing at all against him, it was just a bit annoying, you’ll tell him, K, ok…?
c yall soon, I hope…

Hey Joe,
I am unfortunatly in the same boat as you at the moment. My baby, my lover, my Mac, passed in its sleep yesterday afternoon.

I spent 10 and one half hours by its side, and at minimum of 2 on the phone with the doctors (Apple Care) trying to see if we could spark some life into it. Unfortunatly, this afternoon, I had to take her off of life support.

I have to say though, she wouldnt go to rest easy. Not my baby. At around 9 o’clock EST she gave a spurt of life. To bad OSX was installed to the wrong partition :frowning:

She gave me a good, long, and tough 1 year and 1 month. Life wont be the same without my 12" of pure, hard, cold, aluminum PowerBook.

I feel your pain and then some, she was like an extension of my body, my new PowerBook has big shoes to fill.

RIP “my baby” 8-14-04 :’(

Ouch. You are on warranty right? So apple will send you a new one or fix your current one?

Well, yeah they will try to not gimme a new HDD, but i wont put up with that. I just bought a 15" and a new iPod (cram and jam, $69 bucks for a iPod!) so my brother got a new iPod (my old one) and i got a new computer. All i need is this HDD that they should give me for free if i hasel them enough, and then i got my server too

hasel, hansel…
I’m done with
-XP + all updates
-Norton + all updates
-Nero
-Office & Acrobat
-some misc stuff like Stuffit, Winrar, Flashget, PS Album, Quicktime etc

now off to reinstall Macromedia, Photoshop etc… far from done

Sorry to hear about your Powerbook, 'dipi, a friend once told me to install stuff on a Mac, all you gotta do is copy over the files/folder, that true? Sounds much simpler and quicker than Windoze…

off to finish this.

Yeah Joe, you just mout the disk image, and drag the icon. When i get the new PowerBook in, i will look for a screen video capture thing (like camtasia) so you can see for yourself just how easy it is

Good news - my PowerBook is awaiting a transplant of the HDD! Come Tuesday i will ship it out to Cupertino to get its new HDD and Wednesday i will have my new 15" so - i will have my VNC server set up!
