Creating a background in Swift

Hey guys, I’m in a dilemma when rendering.

I want to create a background, so I create a plane in the back. I then specify new material to use, and use a solid planar wrap (I think). However, when rendered using EmO, it comes out as a bunch of lines. I was hoping to create a true background. :frowning:

And on another note, is it possible when importing a .3ds to cover it with an unwrap made in max. I tried rendering it by apply the material, but it doesn’t stick.
