this is my latest project: a site for a church.
basically its a kind of christian church that seperated from the roman-catholics in 451, with a community in austria.
currently i’m trying to get a layout done for the main page.
anyways, what you’ll see after clicking the link below is all i could come up with so far and honestly, i’m not too confident with it… :-/
the customer asked me to add links to his old page, plz just ignore them, as well as the german text…
so, if you can drop a few lines about what you think of the layout/look of the first page, i’d appreciate it, and please… be honest
thanks in advance,
oh, and please mind that i’m no pro at all, just doing this to finance my studies…
Why are the linking pages different from the front page? I think the style on the front page -the parchment bg, litho/etching graphics and nice serif font-totally suit the topic at hand, it looks great. But I really think you should carry this style over to the other pages that make up the site to give it a unified aesthetic.
the linking pages were made by some volunteer, who wanted to do the church a favor, i’ll replace them with a cms (mambo) as soon as i dare to call the main page “finished”
I like the index but for example when I enter in “Geschichte” theres too much info and I have to scroll down too much, maybe u can make ur font smaller, its annoying to scroll that much
I prefered the old one. I’m all against the buttons that don’t have titles. It means I have to put even more of an effort into knowing what’s on the site. If you do that, you’ll atleast need a menu next to it showing all the pages that those buttons represent.
