CSS Layers: Relative, seems fine in IE but not in Firefox?

hey guys, I havent done css in awhile and it seems some things just keep changing. I’ve included this really simply html file and css sheet.

I got this layout, 2 columns, and im trying to put this tiny swf file in a Layer and have it on top of the other css divs(z-index: 1).

This is the only layer i have and it works fine in IE, even when i resize the browser, but doesn’t seem to work at all in Firefox.

Please check it out or tell me if should steer clear of layers all together.
