Hi, I’m on the hunt for an opensource or cheapish php-mysql-based cms to drive a flash design portfolio. Ive played around with things like drupal, joomla, and wordpress, but I find that their focus is different than Im lookin for, and that they all deliver too much. I can see how I could hack together something a little frankenstienish to get one of them to do what I want, but Im wondering if there is something more specific to my needs.
Anyhow, The way I see it is that I want something ‘project’ focused.
Here’s what I mean by that: say I could create a project (a website design Ive done) and then upload + attach images to it (say a thumb + a number of stills). I could attach some text (brief desc, etc) and then pub it. (plug the data into my flash front end with php/xml) That would be the base, from there itd be nice to create meta-projects (select child projects to attach) to do things like case-studies. Itd be nice to have a simple blog integrated as well, not much text, just news etc.
For clarity: Im not looking for something thats based on a flash front end, just something that could have the front end hacked off sos I could jury-rig it up to flash.
Seems to me there would be a sizeable demand for something like this if it doesnt already exist. Anyone have any ideas? Id be really curious to hear them.
