Designer Wanted for Flashy Nightlife Guide Site!

This site will be simple, flashy, and information heavy. It must be able to be updated constantly by someone who knows very little about web design.

Here’s the breakdown of the site. The front page is simple and attractive. The main feature will be the 7 days of the week, each in its own box or button. The bottom would feature several smaller links such as “Post your event”, “Visit us on myspace”, and “contact”. The color scheme should make the user feel in a ‘nightlife’ mood.

Once the user clicks on a day, they are taken to a new page with several different icon choices, including “Live Music”, “Bars”, “Happy Hours”, “Clubs”, “Under 21”, and “Main Events”. Each of these links will link to a place (it could be on the same page) that lists the events happening on that day in that category. For example, if someone clicks on “Live Music”, they will be brought to the part of that page that lists all of the bands playing that night. The user will be able to click on each band to see a brief description, the location, and the price. They will also be able to click on the location to learn more about that. I’m not sure what the best way to format this would be, but I’m hoping your experience will give you some ideas as to how something like this would be done.

That all being said, I am very open to other layout options. My budget is no more than $300, so this job would be ideal for someone trying to boost his or her portfolio. Once the site is up and running, we will implement heavy marketing strategies. This site will be viewed by many people in our city. I look forward to speaking with you.
