Hi guys!
My client is a hip hop musician in San Francisco. They really want their Flash portal to look *fresh. *
“Fresh” is vague, but I get the picture that they’re looking for a site that has the “hip hop style” if that’s the perfect name for it. I don’t know…there already exists the “grunge” style, so how many of you think that hip hop is similar (only that for differences you might see a turntable or a microphone). How many of you are familiar with hip hop-related Flash sites? I’m looking for inspiration, because I am designing my own designer’s recipe for a cool hip hop site.
This is my current plan of action, and naturally I will start my Flash design off by creating a static design in Photoshop CS:

Look through my old collection of hip hop and rock club flyers from 1999-2002 for design ideas. Look for certain elements that can be applied to the background or interface for the client’s Flash splash page.

View flash sites presented through this forum for ideas (just like anyone else)

Stay here at Kirupa and then visit Sitepoint or Flashkit to find out about Flash site tutorials based upon sites that require plenty of visual design.
So I plan to do these tasks and in no particular order, and I’ll do each of them over again until I come up with a perfect vision. I really HAVE to do it this way because school is next week and my time will be spent on classes instead of my project (which is… good.) I would spend a considerable amount of time formulating up things in my own head, but that’s if I had the time.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for crafting up a vision?
