I feel embarassed to ask this because I know full well what the problem is and feel I should know how to fix this, but everything I try fails.
I am loading text from an external text file into a dynamic text field and when that text field sits on the main timeline and my loadvariablesnum script specifys “0” for the level everything works fine. I do however, have the need to embed this dynamic text field inside of a movie clip, and of course, the moment I do this, the text no longer loads. This movie clip resides on the main timeline with the dynamic text box inside of it.
So to me, the dynamic text box is now residing at level1, so if I change my level from “0” to “1” in my loadvariablenum script, why does the text still not load?
Any help is appreciated…
