Okay, so I’m gonna create this flash movie for my site. It should be as big as the screen of my internet explorer at 1024 x 768. So I was planning on taking a screenshot of my explorer, then measuring how large my flash movie should be to fill the screen (from top to bottom only, not from side to side).
But is this the good way to go? I mean, will the measurements be right? And also, if people have different resolutions (like 800 x 600 or higher then 1024 x 768) will it still cover the whole screen or while it be messed up?
Creating something with 1024x768 and then viewing it with a 800x600 resolution you’ll notice (should notice) that the graphic looks bigger. So your swf will look bigger and more blurry if viewed at 800x600.
And what do u mean by measuring your screenshot? with a ruler?
What I mean, is that most sites nicely spread over the whole screen and have the size ppl want them to have. I mean, you don’t need to scroll up or down, and they don’t have space left above or beneath them. They nicely fill the screen. So I thought: I shouldn’t make a movie at 1024 x 768 then, since you have to take 1024 x 768 minus the size of your IE toolbars and such, right? So I was planning on taking a screenshot of IE and then measuring the space I could actually use, to decide how large my Flash movie should be.
But then I thought, once I make it that size, and people view it on a different resolution, it’ll be totally messed up again. But yet, it doesn’t seem to happen on other sites. Whatever resolution you view it on, it still nicely fills the screen… How do they do that?
