Do I have a virus?

Some things have been happening with my PC and if it was only one or two things I’d probably just dismiss them but when I think how many of these things are happening at the same time, it leads me to believe I might have a virus. The problems are:

Sometimes when I’m on the web, without warning I’ll get a blue screen and the PC crashes.
IE’s not my main browser (Mozilla is) but it won’t let me use the view source option. Whenever I use it…nothing happens. IE also crashes a lot too.
My monitor blinks and kind of goes off for a second and then comes back on.
Machines slow and it never used to be this slow.

Does this sound like a virus or several small problems :h:

Sounds like a trojan to me. Run AVG from www.grisoft.com and then try the anti-trojan programs.

Yeah, those would be exact options in the Fun Plugin that SubSeven made for most EES trojans.

The same thing was happening to me not too long ago. So I got AVG and found out that I had a couple of viruses, one of which was a Trojan.

Well if you have windows, you have a virus in about the first week :wink:

iddin’t becasue i put all the anti viris stuffon before iconnencted and i never got one until about 2 months late if thta is true but then i got bombarded with over 8,000 viris’s when i finally turned off avg

Highly unlikely, however I agree with tucker on McAfee Internet Security… I got it for 20 bucks ($50 original, $30 rebate) and I must say it was worth it. Firewall, VirusScan, and Internet Security (with file guardian)… all in one neat little cd…

I’ve never been infected with a virus apart from the 1 month time frame when I lost the CD temporarily just after I had formatted my disk and which also happened to be the exact time Sasser went around. Coincidence? Fate? Probably, or it could just be my extremely bad luck…

I got AVG when I got the sasser worm and when I first put it on it found 16 Trojans, 7 Viruses and a whole load of other crap. Since I got it my computer runs way more smoothly.
