I acquired this code and I have been trying to figure out exactly what it does, for learning purposes and so I can create something like this with the exact effects, etc, I want. I have copied the code into word and I have put comments in green. Also text with an askterisk in front shows values that I got when I traced it on the run of the first effect - each effect is controlled by clicking the ‘next effect’ button on the screen. I want to make sure my comments make sense, I have researched a lot from the macromedia website to see what these code creaters were doing. Also…one thing I do not get is, there is a call to the initMotionEffect function, and it has case statments with different options, no default action, I do not see anywhere where it is set to play, for examle, the first effect is RANDOM. There is also the second set of effect options on the last page that is incorporated with the first effect option - if I were to guess the first effect is definately RANDOM and possible FADE IN. I can send the SWF if you are having trouble understanding what I am saying/asking. If you can help me I would appreciate it very much - I am a beginner at actionscript, a month or so into it. It is pretty easy to catch on since I have background in programming, and also my book - training from the source by derek franklin and jobe makar - has helped a lot. I really recommend this book to everyone.
