**What moron falls for this???
I mean, it not only asks what your credit card number is… it asks that banks it’s with, routhing number, YOUR PIN CODE??? man people that fall for this deserve to have their money taken.
**

there has been alot of these going around latley a freind of mine got about 3 last week.

I asume you forward it to ebay faud thing.

I’m guessing a lot of people do fall for it, for paypal had similar forged letters hitting its customers. Some people, who aren’t as techno-savvy as us, think it is a legitimate e-mail and send out the info hoping that they did the right thing :frowning:

There are plenty of net scams…

I take no pitty on those stupid enough to fall for this rubbish…

And I hate idiots who click on their spam mail… If it wasn’t for those idiots they wouldn’t bother sending spam.

I think there are more people who fall for this then you’d think :frowning:

If only I counted the numerous “forward this or you will lose your hotmail account” e-mails I’ve gotten over the years… :m:

So I think there are a lot of poor buggers who’d fall for this one…

they ask some crazy *** stuff!

This is called Phishing. I read somewhere that internet users have lost an estimated $11 billion through phishing last year.

Look at the URL, it doesn’t even go to eBay’s website.

:cap: : “Yes it does! Look!”

:sure: :sigh:

That link looks very believable. Once you actually go to the site, it looks like something that you could find on eBay. But, anybody asking you so many details about your account should set of an alarm somewhere that this may be a scam :stuck_out_tongue:

Usually those companies (the actual company) will tell you at some point that they will never email you and ask for more personal information, etc.
