Electrically carved neon lettering, all in AS

Everyone has seen some form or another of displaying letters being drawn, mostly by the use of frame by frame animation with masks.

In the experiment, I use the font glyph coordinates (which I get via Ming), and carve out the letters with a bit of lightening.

I’m concerned with performance. So many lines can bog down the player, but it seems to do okay even on my old 500mhz testing computer. Does it perfrom ok for you?

I’m sorry I don’t have an fla to post, I use Ming not Flash. I can post the AS1 code if anyone is interested.

BTW-I am more than happy to help anyone who needs font glyph outlines, I have over a thousand fonts converted to fdb for just such purposes, and can convert most any font in TTF, SWT, or FDB format. (webdings can be difficult though)
