Hi,
I’ve just designed a Flash based website (MX) and have used the embed fix listed here on kirupa so you don’t need to click on it first before you interact. I’ve tested it on my computer (IE 6.0) and it works sweet, I’ve also tested it on another computer (IE 5.5, maybe earlier) and it also works fine. In fact I never would have known there was anything wrong until someone mentioned that they can’t see anything at all, except for the images I’ve coded in HTML outside of Flash.
There is no pop-up warning or any sign whatsoever that they are not seeing the full deal. All they get is black space where the flash should be.
I’m not exactly certain what version browsers/plugins etc they do or don’t have, however this is happening for at least two other people I know, and one of the computers is on the same intranet as one I’ve tried above (for a govt organisation so highly likely having the same specs) however it also doesn’t work. The only common denominator (without knowing their exact specs) is that they are older machines, at least 5-8 years old.
Could this be a plug-in issue? Although I’m not sure why no warnings appear to suggest they need the latest download. Or could it be something to do with the embed code?
The site is www.alienpunk.com.au
If anyone has any ideas that could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Michelle.
