Okay…I used to work on Flash5 but now on MX 2004. Crazy things seem to keep occuring flsh site. I export the files as flash player 6 because it’s the earliest version that can play my .mov or .wmv files in the .swf… and in my <embed> code in my html I use
…“http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,79,0” width=…etc…
Now the entire site works fine on my computer from the server. But on my friends computer, which is a perfectly good up-to-date computer with flash player 7 and a high speed connection, all of the external .swf’s load fine with the preloader and everyhing. But the buttons linking to a “_blank” url aren’t working at all! It works fine on my computer and I witnessed it myself. IT DOES NOT WORK ON HIS COMPUTER! Oh! and what’s the deal with the new flash player downloads making people restart their computer? That’s not very convenient. Is it because of the flash version I’m linking to in my html code? should I export it as something else? Theres only one real .swf file that I have to export as flash 6 or higher. The rest I can do in 5 if I have to. But these things should be working just fine! But I saw for myself. The site doesn’t function properly on his computer. I’m going live monday and I want it to work on other people’s computers. Thanks for the help. If you need to see my code, let me know.
