Flash 8 is currently in development and its codename is 8Ball. There has recently been a lot of dicussion about what this release will include and who it will be geared toward. The last two releases of the Flash IDE have been focused on developers. Therefore, according to Mike Chambers of Macromedia, 8Ball will be focused on designer enhancements.:bounce:
I hope they come back with the Normal Mode for typing in simple AS It’s much easier to use stuff like getURL when all you have to do is just point, click, and type a few things hehe.
I wonder if MM will release screenshots of their new beta/alpha version of the program? I figure a few pre-release screenshots would help give them some extra publicity and comments for their upcoming product
sweet i hope there a builtin searc harray feature or is there already o well i would like one of those and 3d support would b nice but thta would get in the way of director mx 2004’s only reason for why i use it is 3d.
They talk about it for like 3 minutes… so not much info as you might’ve guessed. 56K viewer beware!
If you’re gonna watch it, or… listen to it, you might want to fast forward to: 00:38:38 (I think that’s about the time they talked about it) Again, it’s not much.
I actually did something similar for the release of MX. I posted a picture of a Flash 5 screen grab and didnt change anything but the title - and not convincingly; I actually took a red pencil in photoshop and crossed out the 5 and drew in a 6. I got hassled by some higher ups warning me about posting beta screens
hmmm i dont get how they can aim it towards designers, i thought flash was all about its unique code…actionscript? the only way i can see them doing it is like what someone mentioned up there is by combining features found on photoshop into flash. But also isnt flash known for its vector graphics? if they combined similar to photoshop features it would probably ruin it…i dont understand how macromedia will pull this one off :sigh:
