Flash as a background in a table?

Hi folks,

I know this is sort of a weird question, but does anyone know if it is possible to use a Flash piece as the background of a table?

Basically I have a web site I am working on where the pages expand in width to fill the user’s browser window, no matter what it’s size. I want to create a horizontal strip where the flash resides (and make the Flash piece around 1048 pixels wide) and then if someone has a large browser window, they simply see more of the Flash piece than someone with a smaller browser window (but without side scrolling in either case) - the height of the Flash piece needs to remain constant.

Can anyone let me know if this is possible - and, if so, how I would go about tackling it?

Many thanks inadvance!

what i would do is have a background image that extends from your flash movie, this way the screen’s width is always covered with your background image

Ok, I guess that would work wouldn’t it? Very cool - I’ll give it a shot - thanks Digitalosophy!

no problem, probably layout your desing in photoshop and take a thin piece of the background image. then in DW just make is a horizontal repeating background image

yep - here is the layout i am working with:

so it’s not really a repeating background (just a really, really long one)

sort of weird, i know, but I want to have some Flash in there so I can fade text in and out around the floating rock, etc… Thanks again for your help!

dude thats a cool bg image. not too sure how i would do it, ill take a look later, im a little busy here right now

no sweat - thanks for the feedback - i’m open to any and all suggestions!

i’m sort of a newbie when it comes to Flash, but I’m getting a decent handle on it (i feel like i’ve still only scratched the surface though - so much more to learn - i’m psyched!)
