Hi gurus,
Very-much-a-newbie here with an issue that I can’t resolve with my pea-sized brain.
I’m using Flash Pro 8 and Dreamweaver 8. I used the tutorial files found at http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx2004/thumbnails.htm which is the third tutorial on picture galleries … the one with mouse-position initiated scrolling thumbnails. I have modified the .fla file enough for my comfort level (resizing the holders, stage, etc) and created all my thumbnails, big images, images.xml file, captions, etc and when I test the movie in Flash, it works perfectly.
I have all of my image files, .xml file, and published files (.swf, .fla and .html) all in ONE folder so there’s no issues with “finding” the files needed, as proved when the .fla is tested in Flash and it works exactly as it should, which shocked me, let me tell you.
So my next move was to move the entire folder’s contents over to my Dreamweaver site I’m building (keeping the folder intact), and placing the .swf file onto the page I needed.
All that comes up on the preview of the html page is the stage and all of the “static” graphics (previous/next buttons, backgrounds of the image counter and caption fields etc … basically everything EXCEPT the thumbnails and the first large image).
I have double and triple checked the folder contents, .xml content, etc and I am stumped as to why it would work fine in Flash but not in DW. What am I doing wrong? (I do have other Flash files in different folders for other pages in the site, and they’re working just fine’n’dandy.)
Gurus : any ideas for me PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE?
