Hi guys, I’m a newbie to Flash and I was wondering if anybody could offer me some help.
I’ve looked through several tutorials here and have also read through posts at flashkit.com, but I’ve been so overwhelmed by all the bajillion things out there xD
Basically, I’m very confused as to where to start. 
I am interested in using flash as an enhancement to my websites. I don’t neccessarily want ENTIRE flash pages. I’m more interested in having a regular HTML site with a bit of PHP with just a flash header and flash navigation. In other words, I don’t want the actual CONTENT to be written in flash.
A very good example of the type of site I’d eventually like to be able to design is http://estarr.com/. Not that I want to design a webhosting site, but a site set up in the same manner.
So I guess the MAJOR thing I need to learn is how to export (is that the right word?) flash files so that they are viewable in a HTML/PHP document. I’d also of course like to know fancy little animation tricks and link rollover effects, and eventually make a photo gallery. (I saw the photo gallery tutorial here and realized I was very far away from doing that anytime soon.)
And now I have some specific questions:
- What are flash components?
- What can XML do with flash?
- What exactly is Actionscript? Is this something I need to know in order to create navigation?
There were lots more while I was writing this but now I can’t remember any of them… :te:
