Hey there. I have an HTML page with a Flash slideshow I made in it. It displays properly everywhere except for my girlfriends two computers. It is located here: http://stu.aii.edu/~je531/MIH/weddings.html I have a frame layed overtop of the images and on her computer it doesn’t show. Also the preloader in the beginning has a white box on top of it but on her computer it doesn’t show. Can anybody tell me why this is happening or how to correct it?
Thanks again,
Duke
Are you publishing to flash 7 or 8, and she only has player 6 or 7 installed? eaarlier versions of the player will try to play newer swf versions, but they are usually buggy
Thats a good question. Thanks very much for responding I really appreciate it. I’m gonna check it out.
Since it is that way do you think it would be better if I published to 6 so that I don’t have to worry about it because I guess I can’t expect everybody to have 7 or 8 even if they should and I don’t want my slideshow to look like crap. Whatcha think?
Well, you kinda have to know what version your building for before you start so you know what features to include. If you have extensive use of any of the F8 filters package, you have to strip them all out before publishing. I really recomend before even starting a project, to take a look at what you target audience is, then cater to them. Heres a good chart to help you decide which version is the best for your target audience:http://www.macromedia.com/software/player_census/flashplayer/version_penetration.html
