I sincerelly think this has nothing to do with us, but I’ve been told to find a fix anyway.
Here’s the deal: we made a flash site for a client and put it up for them to see. He had to update to flash 8, so he did. However, the javascript and actionscript checks both claim he still has < 8. He’s followed all the steps (or so he says). He even uninstalled Flash Player, rebooted, installed it again, and rebooted. No go.
He’s the only one that has this problem. He can by-pass the flash-check page and go to the main site, and the way the site shows up is inherint of Flash 7 trying to play Flash 8 (messed up objects, etc…).
I’ve tried everything I can think of on our end: just a JavaScript check (that is generated by Flash and used on millions of sites), just an ActionScript check taken from the Flash Detection examples on Macromedia.com, and both. Still a no go.
Could it be something on our end that’s funky, or is it definitely on his end?
Thanks!
P.S. google seraching and searching these forums turned up nothing.
